VR Training at Hannover Messe surprises Prince Constantijn and Minister Kamp

Prince Constantijn and Minister Kamp experience the Virtual Reality (VR) training from Serious VR and C4Real at the largest industrial fair in the world, the Hannover Messe, at the beginning of this week.

The Twente companies Serious VR and C4Real work together to create Virtual Reality software to train skilled workers in industrial environments in a simple and more efficient way. Central to the training are visualizations and gamification for delivering digitized work training. Companies such as Apollo Vredestein, Thales, and Diversey are now utilizing the VR training from Serious VR, a startup of Novel-T. In doing so, they fulfill the role of launching customer for Serious VR.

Collaboration helps Serious VR advance

A close collaboration with Novel-T, Twente Branding, Mikrocentrum, and Brainport Industries provides good exposure in the international market. For instance, Serious VR is present at the Holland High Tech pavilion at the Hannover Messe in hall 8, which attracts as many as 200,000 visitors. Here, other Twente companies showcase what they have to offer.

In collaboration with Oost NV, a well-attended presentation titled ‘VR: hype or serious business?’ was held at the fair about AR (augmented reality) and VR. It is clear that Virtual Reality is definitely no longer a hype; it will completely change the way of developing and training in the industry. This is supported by the attention and direction of large multinationals and family businesses that focus on applications with the technology. For Serious VR, this is a great opportunity and already successful due to the positive feedback and concrete leads.

High-profile visit at Hannover Messe

Prince Constantijn (StartupDelta), State Secretary Dekker of Education, and Minister Kamp of Economic Affairs visited the Serious VR exhibition stand at the beginning of this week and personally experienced a VR training session. Prince Constantijn was pleasantly surprised by the Apollo Vredestein VR training: “It’s good that you can move and take action in the space and are not just a spectator. That is better than the other applications I have seen.” Minister Kamp was also impressed.

In addition to the attention received, Serious VR was chosen on Monday to participate in “Meet the Giants”. An initiative organized by High Tech NL where large companies like Philips, Void, and Lenze are matched with startups to discuss growth and collaboration. A lovely compliment for Serious VR.
