C4Real is the winner of an AVA Digital Award; the competition for digital professionals in 2020. The jury assessed 2500 submissions from around the world and awarded the unique VR application Achmea Metropolis, created by C4Real, a score of 90 to 100 points (with a maximum of 100 points).

This project won a platinum AVA Digital Award. A remarkable achievement. C4Real is the only Dutch winner in the Augmented/Virtual Reality category.

Achmea Metropolis

Visualise the complexity of the entire IT landscape by developing a concept and solution that is understood by both IT and non-IT professionals. This was the task given to C4Real by Achmea. This resulted in Achmea MetroPolis; the digital IT city of Achmea with a fully interactive experience and storyline in Virtual Reality.

Visualising such an exceedingly complex IT landscape in VR has never been done before. It is one of the first true business cases of VR technology in the field of change management within the IT sector. Without extensive IT knowledge, the whole was impossible to comprehend, but now it is. Employees who do not work in the IT department now understand what happens when in the systems of Achmea. It is a giant leap forward compared to the dull and complex IT architecture diagrams on the wall, where every component has the same colour and you have no idea what you are looking at. Thanks to MetroPolis, people are excited about how Achmea operates and how IT actually works. Employees can now truly experience this.
