The possibilities and developments in the technical field are progressing rapidly. The digital revolution is also making swift advances in mission-critical communication, such as transport and defence. When you are driving a vehicle and need to communicate quickly and clearly and exchange data with people outside the vehicle, it is important that you can understand each other well, there is no interference or noise on the line, and you can trust that data arrives safely and quickly to the recipient. With SOTAS, a part of the French-Dutch radar and communication systems company Thales, these processes become more efficient and reliable, and safety is ensured. Thales wanted to clearly communicate the added value of its extensive product portfolio with the SOTAS line to the target audience through an impressive visual campaign without getting too technical.

THE CHALLENGE OF THALES AND C4REAL

We know that you can name and explain all the technical specifications of the audio communication system, but it is about the problem it solves for the customer: the concrete benefits the products offer compared to what they are currently using. In this, we play out a scenario that directly reveals the solution and the distinctive capabilities of SOTAS. From this, we created a 3D product model library of models and vehicles from which visuals and shorter animations were made. These were then used for a visual sales kit with brochures, presentation templates, and exhibition materials, so that all Thales sales professionals worldwide can communicate with potential customers using the same visual story.

For this production, Thales and C4Real jointly won a gold MarCom Award; an international creative competition that recognises outstanding achievements by marketing and communication professionals. From the many entries from around the world, the jury of the MarCom Awards rewarded the visual collaboration of C4Real and Thales within the SOTAS campaign with the MarCom Award in the category ‘Strategic Communication Campaign’.
