THE CHALLENGE: SIMPLY EXPLAINING SUSTAINABILITY WEBS

Explain the sustainable character of the fabrics from Tecawork Ecogreen in the simplest and most understandable way possible; this challenge was given to C4Real. Ten Cate Protective Fabrics, which started as a textile company in Nijverdal, also focuses on the production of sustainable fabrics for workwear. In simple terms: Ten Cate Protective Fabrics makes fabrics from plastic and sustainable wood. These combined fabrics are then sent as materials to their customers who make workwear from them. Clothing for, among others, car mechanics, firefighters, and healthcare personnel. With the sustainability and quality label of Ten Cate Protective Fabrics. But how do you simply and clearly explain the sustainable character of these fabrics to the target audience? C4Real was asked this question and came up with the solution: a 2D explanatory animation.

How do you explain a complex story in an understandable way?

THE SOLUTION: 2D EXPLANATORY ANIMATIONS!

Just imagine: you want to explain a broad and complex story. But there are so many elements and details that a 'simple' explanation is almost unimaginable. Which USPs are relevant for this concept and how do we build the story? C4Real came up with the solution in the form of a 2D explanatory animation. A 2D explanatory animation provides the opportunity to clearly present a complex story in image and sound with more limited budgets.

Questions, discussions and brainstorming!

THE PROCESS

When C4Real received this case, they first decided to collaboratively outline the entire production process. In which steps is sustainability present? How can this be represented? At the start of the concept phase, the narrative was still far too broad. It needed to be transformed into a short, clear, and logical story.

C4Real got started with the development of scripts, storyboards, styleframes, and especially a lot of questions, discussions, and brainstorming with the client. In a pleasant, constructive manner, all the threads were ultimately woven together into a powerful final product!

The added value of a 2D explanatory animation

THE FINAL RESULT

The end result is impressive. The animation is one continuous flow in which the sustainable life cycle character of the combined fabrics of Tecawork Ecogreen is explained clearly and simply. The camera follows you from the beginning to the end of the story. In the animation, extra attention has been paid to the illustrative transitions and the use of moving icons from the TenCate icon library that highlight the USPs. The entire piece is accompanied by a specially composed audio line to give it something extra and unique. Additionally, the 2D explanatory animation has been produced in 5 different languages (Dutch, English, German, French, and Polish) with voice-overs in these languages.
