TenCate Geosynthetics from America and the Netherlands have developed TenCate Geotube®. These are synthetic elongated bags that can be filled with sediment and sludge. Due to the filtering action of the material, water flows out, while the solid matter remains behind. This means that, for example, pollutants can be safely packaged for storage. But it is also a great solution to reinforce dikes, dams, and dunes, as they can also be built upon. Even as a foundation for a port area, the TenCate Geotube® can be used. To communicate its versatility, TenCate Geosynthetics asked C4Real to develop a visual content strategy for this.
A concrete question from TenCate Geosynthetics was to present the possibilities and operation of Geotube® in an engaging way. So far, they mainly communicated with texts and photos. However, this did not work properly. The product does not look appealing and is primarily used in dirty conditions, so functionality is paramount. The story behind it is very strong and it calls for being visualized.
To communicate effectively what TenCate Geotube® is and what it can do, we have recreated various situations in 3D. Think of water filtration systems, mining situations, a port under construction, a bridge, and an island under construction… all kinds of applications that are recognizable to the target audience. From the animations, we then created 3D stills that are used on the website. In this way, TenCate Geosynthetics consistently communicates, and the overall story becomes clear to the target audience who are not yet familiar with the product TenCate Geotube®.
