MULTINATIONAL TENCATE COMPLETELY IN PICTURE
Every organization will recognize it: to communicate optimally with each other and to function as a team, information management must be in order. Often, information is partly hidden in the minds of people and partly in systems and folders on laptops and desktops. The desire of materials technology company TenCate was to unlock the essence of the information and to make it visually apparent as an overarching umbrella of content, so that stakeholders and interested parties maintain access to the message of the corporate story and understand it directly.

We created a virtual showroom: an interactive, visual representation of the entire business model of TenCate in 3D. In this 'digital factory', colleagues and (potential) customers can easily find the key information about propositions, solutions, and techniques. The digital visitor starts at the entrance of the virtual building of TenCate. From there, you can click on the various divisions and enter the virtual processing environment. There, as a visitor, you will find all the visual and textual information about this division, such as TenCate Grass. This section contains all information about production processes, semi-finished products or end products, business cases, and product characteristics. At the same time, you can also go outside to experience solutions digitally: in and around an aircraft, on the battlefield, above and below water, in and out of the fire. Thus, the internal world of the TenCate group has been made visible to the interested outside world.
THE STARTING POINT
The different divisions of TenCate contain very specific and often complicated high-tech information. This varies from highly technical data concerning the automotive industry to aerospace, military matters, sports, and water management. All based on technical textiles. To devise an appropriate visual solution for this, we had to step into the shoes of both customers and employees of TenCate. It is important that we both speak the same language because only when you both understand what you want to create in detail and you both bring your own knowledge and expertise into it can you achieve this fantastic end result. Because TenCate wanted to visualize all information, the organization was forced to share or document the necessary data. In addition to creating the valuable virtual showroom, it has also helped to organize the information better for each division. Jaap de Carpentier Wolf from TenCate says the following about it: “The impactful outcome proves that this vision is the right one. We have been able to visualize and connect all relevant information clearly. I think many organizations get stuck in not fully organizing their information management. That is indeed a significant challenge. But if you can't achieve that, you cannot create a cohesive whole, effectively connecting all business units visually and substantively. TenCate chose to present the overarching story with all the details visually. “The many animations from C4Real provide significant added value both in terms of content and visually. A picture says more than 1,000 words on paper. Literally, the visualisation proceeds much faster. That is what corporate communication aims for. When you experience something visually, you are convinced faster, purely because it is presented in an understandable way, and in this case, someone can also engage interactively.
