CREATING AWARENESS
OOMT, the development fund for the mobility sector with 80,000 employees and 12,000 employers, supports the sector with coaching, research, events, and career advice, aiming to continuously strengthen the industry.
The rise of electric vehicles has already had a significant impact on car companies, as well as on transport companies and drivers: new knowledge and skills are needed, and traditional processes are changing rapidly. Previously, we developed an interactive EV visualization for OOMT that was so successful that it significantly increased awareness and understanding of electric vehicles.
For the next challenge, training and educating drivers and operators, we have therefore developed a highly realistic VR Truck experience. In this virtual, interactive truck environment, VR, 3D animation, 2D animation, audio design, and storytelling come together. The result: a powerful tool that allows drivers to safely and intuitively practice complex processes, enabling transport companies to take the first step towards the future of their industry.

THE QUESTION
OOMT aims to improve the onboarding and training of drivers and operators through a safe and efficient learning environment. Traditional training in real trucks is expensive, time-consuming, and provides limited insight into complex logistics processes. Therefore, they sought a way to illuminate realistic scenarios and complex actions without risk and with maximum involvement.
“Our target group sometimes finds it difficult to discuss serious topics. That’s why we sought a medium that directly piques interest and can provide a reason to engage in conversation,” says Ellen Hiep, communications advisor for OOMT.
The collaboration between OOMT, Richtingmakers, and C4Real formed a powerful triangular relationship: OOMT provided the content, Richtingmakers directed the campaign, and C4Real developed the thoughtful concept of the VR Truck experience. The result is a very realistic VR Truck experience in which drivers can navigate interactive scenarios, practice processes safely, and transportation companies take the first step towards the future of their industry.
THE FINAL RESULT
In the VR experience, Virtual Reality, 3D animation, 2D animation, storytelling, and audio come together seamlessly. All these elements merge in the unique environment and create a realistic image that not only fits the subject but also the target audience.
